This elective course will discuss key concepts and guiding principles of equity-focused school leadership. Students will explore several identities such as race, socioeconomics, and language with emphasis on their intersections with equity in educational leadership. The curriculum encompasses in-depth discussions on the role of team building and the implementation of strategies for leading transformative change within educational institutions. Participants will learn to foster collaborative efforts that amplify the impact of equity-focused initiatives, enhance problem solving capabilities, and ensures that equity considerations are embedded within the relational and systemic structures and practices of the school setting.
