SPAN 378 - Spanish Lit 18th Century to Present

This course studies the literature from Spain beginning in the 18th century and continuing through the present. Literary movements such as Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism will be covered as well as the Spanish Epoca de Plata (generacion del 98, 14 y 27) post-war works and literature from the post-Franco period. Some of the authors studied in this course include Cadalso, Larra, Espronceda, Becquer, Galdos, Unamuno, Machado, Garcia Lorca, Miguel Hernandez, Cela, Carmen Laforet, Perez-Reverte, Munoz Molina, and Rosa Montero.

Prerequisites: SPAN 375 , SPAN 376  or instructor’s permission.
