SPAN 133 - Spanish for Health Professions 3 Credit Hours 3 Lecture Hours 0 Laboratory Hours
This course is designed to teach health professionals in the United Staates how to communicate with patients whose primary language is Spanish. It will serve the needs of TLU students entering the nursing program as well as members of the community seeking to learn Spanish to use in the medical field. The course will focus on the most common and practical communication needs such as: intake information, personal and family history, diagnosis of chief complaint, basic requests and commands, friendly greetings and farewells, and insurance and billing information. For students pursuing majors in the medical sciences only.
Prerequisites: SPAN 131 .
