PHIL 131 - Ethics Bowl 3 Credit Hours 3 Lecture Hours 0 Laboratory Hours
This course is an interdisciplinary, case-study approach to practical contemporary ethical issues in education, engineering, law, medicine, personal relationships, politics, etc. Students will develop critical thinking skills and oral presentation skills. Students will also conduct research on ethical cases and learn theoretical ethical concepts and frameworks to apply to the cases. Students will present and defend positions on the cases in the form of a team debate and are expected to participate in the Texas Regional Ethics Bowl competition and includes the possiblity of participating in the National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl.
