This course addresses the historical, contemporary, and global perspectives related to the role of nursing influencing healthcare today and evidence-based practices related to the science of nursing. Emphasis is placed on the ethical, legal, and theoretical foundations of nursing. Students will explore the standards of practice used to guide the development of professional nursing and utilize critical appraisal skills.
