NURS 528 - Promoting Health In Older Adults

This course focuses on understanding the aging process and the role of the nurse in promoting healthy aging across a variety of care settings. Emphasis is on factors affecting physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of older adults. Strategies for promoting health through the provision of evidence-based care and interprofessional collaboration in planning, implementing, and evaluating care of the of the older adult with complex co-morbidities, polypharmacy, and major geriatric syndromes are explored.
