HIST 130 - Investigating the Past 3 Credit Hours 3 Lecture Hours 0 Laboratory Hours
This introductory seminar allows students to closely investigate a specific historical topic, using the methods of historical inquiry. Topics are chosen by the instructor and may include, for example: medieval castles; a history of London; Americans and the Holocaust; the Sixties. Students will learn to understand interpretations provided by historians, and they will practice working like a historian: finding historical sources, placing them into their context, investigating the clues they provide as historical evidence, and constructing compelling arguments. Consult class schedule for topics.
