AFAM 336 - Poverty and Discrimination 3 Credit Hours 3 Lecture Hours 0 Laboratory Hours
This course expolores how the discipline of economics can explain and analyze the causes and effects of poverty and discrimination on various parts of the population. Students will be introduced to economic theories of poverty and discrimination, ways to measure each (and the problems associated with these measures), and a description of the success and failures of public policies designed to curtail discrimination in the US.
Prerequisites: ECON 237 or instructor approval.
