HIST 335 - The African-Amer Freedom Struggle

This course explores the efforts of African Americans to achieve civil rights beginning in the 1860’s through the present day. In addition to providing a broad chronological and thematic framework for understanding the movement, this course will also introduce students to a diverse array of primary sources that will help develop an understanding of the major themes of the Civil Rights Movement and familiarize students with some of the major historiographical interpretations of the period. Also offered as AFAM 335 .

Prerequisites: Sophomore standing.
