Emphasizes literature search in data science, ability to work with big data, use of advanced quantitative skills and the ability to write and present the results. Each student must complete an individual research project to demonstrate the mastery of the curriculum. The thesis project may explore an original topic or expand on a previously researched idea.

Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor and permission of the MSDS Director.
